Far Cry 2 worked because it was broken

Added: 25.05.2015 5:16 | 22 views | 0 comments

Back in 2008, before the Far Cry series ascended to the heights of recent efforts, things weren't so rosy. The Africa-set Far Cry 2 split critics and fans alike, most notably because it was teensy bit broken. Okay, it was quite a bit broken, but it turns out all that off-the-wall DNA actually made the game better in the eyes of one of its creators. In the latest issue of Edge, Clint Hocking (who led the creative direction of the game) explains his experience on the Splinter Cell series had a big impact on the emergent elements that inspired said broken-ness. "On the Splinter Cell games, I'd worked really hard to make these highly intentional systems that were full of emergent gameplay opportunities," says Hocking. "We tried to do that again on. Far Cry 2, and we realised it was falling apart."

Shadows, because stealth game. DO YOU SEE?.
Hey, that Twin Souls looks a bit good, doesn't it? Obviously I'm basing that on a few trailers and screenshots, but anything inspired by Tenchu, Thief and Splinter Cell has a real shot at sneaking into my good books. Now, devs Lince Works have given a new interview to Only SP, revealing quite a few details about the game.

Sneaky Sneaky Review | WGTC

Added: 26.11.2014 6:11 | 25 views | 0 comments

Eric from We Got This Covered wrote: After a busy few years, the stealth genre has had a relatively quiet 2014. Genre mainstays such as Splinter Cell and Hitman have mostly sat out the year, which has led to smaller titles that have been surprisingly good (Styx: Master of Shadows) to the annoyingly bland (CounterSpy) popping up. Looking to make a name for themselves in the genre is Naiad Entertainment, and their debut offering, Sneaky Sneaky.

Stealth-focused Clandestine preview - rough shadows | Load The Game

Load The Game - "After first witnessing Clandestines Early Access trailer and screenshots, this first coming to mind was Ubisofts third-person stealth-focused Splinter Cell series. Being a fan of Sam Fishers adventures, I thought about giving developer Logic Artists latest a spin. After a few hours getting accustomed to its Early Access build, Ive realised Clandestine could very well be an excellent title; just not in its current state."

The Evil Within Review - The Games Cabin

Added: 23.10.2014 10:15 | 25 views | 0 comments

The Games Cabin - "The Evil Within has been out for over a week now, giving this reviewer more than enough time to delve into the horrors it bears - over 30 to be precise. Horror games aren't my favourite genre if I'm honest, though not because I dislike the genre in general, but more because I'm a big scaredy pants who can't even play Splinter Cell in the dark, nevermind The Evil Within. Still, I managed to get into it and found myself pleasantly surprised at how much fun I actually had with it. Read on for the full The Evil Within review."
